Privacy Policy
What information we use and the choices you have.

Who operates The Good App
The Good App is operated by Gabriel Briceno Jesus Rojas, a sole proprietor. Postal contact: 1217 Manor Drive South, Weston, FL 33326, United States. Privacy, legal and support contact: support@thegood-app.com. This policy covers The Good App and its website.
Age eligibility
The Good App is for people aged 16 and older. We ask for confirmation before account creation and when accepting these terms. This is an age declaration, not identity verification. If local law requires a higher age or a parent or guardian’s permission, that requirement also applies. We do not knowingly offer accounts to children under 16. Contact support if you believe an underage person has an account so we can investigate and remove the account and associated data when appropriate.
Account and profile information
We process your name, email, account identifier, sign-in information, and dated policy acknowledgements. App passwords are stored as protected hashes. Apple or Google sign-in uses Firebase; we receive the verified provider identity and available name/email, including an Apple relay email when used. Profile photo, phone, address, date of birth, gender, country and interests are optional. We also process the posts, photos, comments, memberships, invitations, reactions, saved items, reports and support requests you submit.
Location and nearby results
Near uses device coordinates when you grant permission, or a location saved in your profile, to find nearby stories and projects. Saved profile coordinates remain until updated or the account is deleted. You can deny or revoke device location permission in system settings and use the other app features. Location is not required to create an account. Do not publish precise private locations in public contributions.
Personalization and device storage
Selected story topics increase the share of matching stories while keeping a mix of other categories. You can skip selection or change or disable it in Settings → Story preferences. We store these preferences with your account. The app also keeps a protected sign-in session, preferences, drafts and cached stories on your device. If you choose to remember a password, it is stored in device secure storage. Biometric unlocking is handled by your device; we do not receive a fingerprint or face template.
Notifications
If you enable notifications, we process a device push token, platform, language, time zone, notification choices and delivery status to send story alerts and community activity through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service. Notification content may appear on your lock screen according to your device settings. Manage alerts in the app’s notification settings or turn off permission in system settings. These are push notifications, not SMS messages.
How we use information
We use information to operate accounts, deliver and personalize stories, show nearby results, publish contributions to their selected audience, verify subscriptions, prevent abuse, send account emails, and provide support. We process IP addresses, user-agent information, login times and security events to operate and protect the service. Public contributions can be copied by other people; avoid including sensitive information.
AI safety review, writing and translation
Before you contribute, a separate permission screen explains that submitted text and photos are sent to Microsoft Azure AI Content Safety or OpenAI for automated safety checks. These checks can approve, reject or hold content. The current moderation provider is Microsoft Azure. If review is unavailable, posts wait instead of bypassing the check. You can read without giving posting permission, withdraw future posting permission in Settings → Community Guidelines, or contact support to appeal a decision. Previously submitted provider requests may finish processing. Google Gemini receives selected public source material to extract factual notes. It processes those notes and article drafts to write The Good App original articles and run a separate automated editorial review. It may also translate public stories when that use is permitted. Community post translation uses our configured LibreTranslate service. Provider processing and retention are subject to their applicable terms. Do not include private information in content you submit.
Advertising and privacy choices
Google AdMob may process IP address, approximate location inferred from IP, advertising or device identifiers, ad interactions and diagnostics to deliver ads, prevent fraud and measure performance. Google’s consent tools request choices where required before ads are requested. Settings → Ad privacy choices is available when Google requires a privacy-options entry point. Device advertising and tracking controls also apply. Account terms and AI permission do not grant advertising consent. Testing builds use test ads; an active ad-free subscription or clearly labeled temporary preview hides app ad placements.
Purchases and subscriptions
Apple or Google processes store payments. We receive purchase tokens or transaction identifiers, product, renewal/expiry, refund and entitlement status, and an account association to verify access and restore purchases. We do not receive your full card details. Store providers maintain their own payment records. Deleting your app account does not automatically cancel a store subscription; cancel in the store’s subscription settings.
Providers and disclosures
Service providers include Contabo and Cloudflare for infrastructure, Apple and Google/Firebase for sign-in and notifications, Resend for account email delivery, Google AdMob for advertising, Apple and Google for purchases, Microsoft Azure or OpenAI for safety review, and Google Gemini for public-source fact extraction, original-article drafting, automated editorial review and permitted public-story translation. Only the information needed for the relevant feature is provided. We may disclose information when legally required or to address abuse, fraud or security incidents. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries; applicable contracts and legal safeguards govern those transfers.
Website technologies
The public website uses infrastructure services including Cloudflare, which may process connection information and use security cookies to protect the site. The mobile app uses native storage and SDKs rather than relying on a website cookie banner. Advertising consent is handled separately in the app. If additional nonessential website analytics or advertising is introduced, its disclosure and any required choice will be presented before use.
Deletion and retention
We keep account data while the account is active and as needed for the purposes described here. Delete your account in Profile → Settings → Delete account, or request deletion at thegood-app.com/delete-account. Successful in-app deletion removes the account, profile, saved location, owned content, comments, created communities, invitations, sessions, notification devices, linked app purchase records and associated app moderation records from our active database, plus the linked Firebase sign-in identity. It does not delete your Apple or Google account or cancel store subscriptions. Device drafts, remembered credentials and app content caches are cleared on the device used for deletion. Errors are shown so you can retry. Other users may retain copies of public content. Infrastructure logs, provider records and backups may remain for limited operational, security or legal purposes under the relevant retention rules. Contact support about a specific retention or deletion request.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, manage permissions and notifications, skip or disable story personalization, revisit available advertising choices, withdraw future posting permission, block users, remove your contributions and delete your account. Contact support@thegood-app.com for access, correction, a copy of your data, deletion, objection or other rights available in your region, including applicable advertising opt-out rights. We verify ownership before acting and may ask only for information needed to do so. Do not send passwords or secret keys. Where applicable, you may contact your local data protection authority.
Security and changes
We use HTTPS for app API connections, protected credential storage and access controls. No system is completely secure. Material privacy changes will be communicated in the app or another appropriate channel, and this page will show the current date. A new purpose requiring consent will require a separate choice.
